FAQS
Why Chiropractic?
As
an ex-collegiate athlete lifting weights, suffering injuries and being familiar
with rehab, it just made logical sense to pursue a career that would allow my
past experiences as an athlete to help patients recover more thoroughly, Chiropractic
afforded me the ability to combine the best of all the rehabilitative disciplines
to create personalized outcomes.
What
is Chiropractic to you?
Chiropractic is the ability of the physician to
look at the body as a whole using any physical means necessary to restore balance
and homeostasis. Including, but not limited to nutrition and supplementation physical
therapy, counseling, patient education with spinal adjustment as the foundation
of the process.
What
would you like a prospective new patient to know?
Don't believe negative
propaganda about Chiropractic care. There is good and bad in every profession.
Chiropractic is no different. Your doctor should be thorough and be able to explain
your condition and treatment to you in terms you should understand. Chiropractic
done right is a safe and extremely effective way to treat neuromuscular skeletal
pathology.
What
is spinal adjustment? Does it hurt?
Spinal adjustment is the method by
which a Chiropractor places their hands on your spine to correct the position
of the vertebrae that cause nervous system interference or dysfunction. It should
not hurt to perform, although it is not unusual for there to be some residual
soreness by the next day. No different than if you had just overworked your muscles.
Initially, immediately after treatment, the patient should note significant relief
that should last between 2 to 4 hours. The duration of relief will extend as treatment
continues until structural integrity is restored.
What
type of conditions do you treat?
In 16 years of clinical practice, 3 of
those as a staff physician in a traditional hospital, I have pretty much had an
opportunity to treat nearly every type of spinal and or neuromuscular condition.
I have had significant success with chronic lower back pain, herniated or bulging
discs, migraine headaches, tension/stress headaches, sciatica, TMJ, tendonitis,
bursitis, post-surgical rehabilitation.
What
other types of services do you offer?
We take pride in providing personalized
one-on-one care. I have a certified strength and conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S.)
providing rehab care and massage therapy along with nutritional counseling.
